Fossils from Morocco, Orthoceras fossils have been found dating back to the Ordovician period ( 400+ million years ago) and are the earliest recognizable animals. They are ancestors to the modern day squid. Ammonites are perhaps the most widely known fossil, possessing the typically ribbed spiral-form shell as pictured above. These creatures lived in the seas between 240 - 65 million years ago, when they became extinct along with the dinosaurs. Ammonites belong to a group of predators known as cephalopods, which includes their living relatives the octopus, squid, and nautilus.
How to use your Forever Rock Candle:
Simply remove the brass tube and wick.
Slowly fill the reservoir with 3 - 4 funnels full of lamp oil, 3 - 4 hours of burn time
Use Ultra Pure Paraffin Lamp Oil for indoors (available Ace Hardware, Hobby Lobby, Online)
Citronella tiki oil for outdoor to keep the bugs away
See our Frequently asked questions for adding scents to your candle
Bring the brass tube to the end of the wick, replace the wick and brass tube, keep wick very low for burning inside (1/4" or less showing) wick can be burned higher for outside use for a larger flame less likely to blow out in the wind
Once the oil is gone, your candle will go out naturally or blow it out when done. Add more oil the next time you want to use it.
Do not trim the wick, it is fiberglass and will not burn away
